About
Hi Everyone,
I will start by saying that I do not like about pages, because I never know what to write. But you deserve to know a bit about your photographer so here I go….
Photography is my passion. Every time I get my camera out I want to capture something different, something unique. I get bored easily so I strive to keep my photography interesting by looking for a new place to photograph, trying out a new technique, just doing something different! So where did this crazy photography passion start? That’s a great question. In college, my uncle gave me an older SLR camera and I loved playing around with it. I took one; yes one, photography class in college … your standard black and white, darkroom photography class. I loved it! I loved developing my own pictures and seeing them appear right before my eyes. I’ll admit some of those pictures were really bad. Really, they were! But I saw the progress each time I stepped into the dark room. From there it just grew. I have two friends in particular in college who also enjoyed photography so we spent lots of time photographing all different things. Finally I graduated college with a Bachelor’s of Social Work and entered the crazy and challenging world of child welfare (that’s a whole other story). I got some new camera equipment and just kept playing around with it. I joked that when I retired I was going to become a photographer for National Geographic. One day, while in Baltimore with my husband, I could not get rid of the urge and desire to take more pictures of people. So I jumped right in (almost literally). Three years later, here I am. Loving every second of it. I love what I photography. Weddings are amazing. They are the highlight in people’s lives and I love the emotions and the atmosphere. The excitement of the bride as she gets into her dress and then sees her husband to be for the first time. It’s priceless and I love being a part of it. With portraits, life flies by us so quick. The saying that life seems to move faster as you get older is SO true! Portrait photography allows me to capture something in time, something that can then be remembered forever. Kids change so quickly and grow so fast. Being able to remember their little toes and fingers is so important. Then before you know it, they are graduating high school. Family portraits allow me to capture a bond that exist with loved ones, despite how fast paced our world seems to be moving these days.
What else is there to say about me. I am deeply in love with my husband who continues to support me through all my crazy ideas! I have a cat named Kit-Kat, who I think hit her head one too many times, but she continues to make us laugh. My family means the world to me and I have so many cherished moments spent with them.
So that’s me in a snap shot. Want to know more about me? Just look through my pictures (or feel free to ask).
That’s it for now … thanks!
Kim
